About the Artist
Tsukasa Kataoka is a Japanese fine art photographer born in 1977.
Since 2005, he has studied under master photographer Katsuhisa Ogawa, and has been deeply influenced by his collaboration with Buddhist monk and calligrapher Shizuka Jien.
Kataoka creates meditative landscapes that reflect the unseen beauty of nature and the human spirit.
His works are printed on custom-made *Tango Washi*—a traditional handmade Japanese paper also used for cultural heritage restoration.
By blending the poetic depth of photography with the soul of Japanese craftsmanship, Kataoka transcends the boundaries of visual art.
Each piece is a contemplative mandala, inviting viewers to pause, breathe, and reconnect with their inner selves.
His work has received praise from international curators, including Ainhoa Fernández (Fine Arts, Singulart), who described his landscapes as “evoking deep emotional resonance through themes of nature, silence, and introspection.”
His piece *Sanctuary of Silence* was cited as “the most emotionally moving” in the curator’s portfolio review.
Our Philosophy
We believe in the healing power of nature and the timeless values of Japanese tradition.
Each of our artworks is born from a completely original process—layering hundreds of photographs to compose a single image.
Rather than capturing a moment, we craft a meditative experience—painting with light, silence, and memory.
This unique technique, refined over years of exploration, gives rise to a new form of visual expression unlike anything else.
Printed on *Tango Washi*—a handmade Japanese paper used in the restoration of national treasures—each piece combines the quiet strength of photography with the soul of traditional craftsmanship.
From cranes that embody eternal harmony to landscapes that breathe stillness, our works are contemplative mandalas that invite pause, reflection, and peace.
Our mission is to bring moments of stillness to modern life—through art that soothes, inspires, and endures.
🔹Curator’s Voice

— Ainhoa Fernández, Fine Arts / VIP Program Curator at Singulart
